HALLOWEEN 2017

Hello, loves! I hope you all had a great Halloween! Last night, we took Jax out for his first time trick or treating. We actually live in an apartment complex and not too many neighbors participate in the Halloween festivities so our good friends, Dylan and Leavell, invited us over to trick or treat in their neighborhood! It was Jax’s first time actually going door to door and he loved it! Jax was a little scared at first, but after a few houses, he got the hang of it. It so cute watching him trick or treat. You should’ve seen how happy he was! We headed back to their place to help pass out candy once it got dark. Jax was so excited to help. He would literally wait at the screen door waiting for other kids to come up. Little man even put pieces of candy in their bags! It was the sweetest thing everrrrr! Halloween 2017 was a success! We’re already counting down to next year!

DIY SKELETON COSTUME

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays so I was beyond excited to get started on our costumes this year, especially for Jax. But in light of recent events, I haven’t really had the chance to do anything these days. I started thinking about costumes that I could make myself and came up with this cute, little skeleton costume for little J. The whole costume took only 20 minutes to make and cost under $10! What I’ve Learned in My First Year of Motherhood

When I walked into Jax’s room this morning, I saw him standing there in his crib with a big smile on his face. He said, “Maaaam”, and it really hit me that my baby isn’t a baby anymore. He’s almost 15 months old and is now a toddler. Seriously, where did the time go? I couldn’t help but start thinking about the past year and how crazy this journey into motherhood has been. I absolutely love being a mom but motherhood is no joke! So I started thinking about a few things that I learned throughout this past year. Let me tell you, I’ve learned a lot – good and bad! So here’s a look at what I’ve learned in my first year of motherhood.

Less is More – Capsule Wardrobe

For the past few months, I’ve been wanting to give a capsule wardrobe a try. What’s a capsule wardrobe? Essentially, it’s a minimalistic wardrobe filled with a few essential pieces that you absolutely love. These pieces all coordinate with each other and can be worn interchangeably to make up different looks. Each season, you can take a few pieces out and add some new ones in. With a capsule wardrobe, you spend less time shopping, deciding what to wear, and getting dressed and gives you more time for more important things in life.

Hey all! I just wanted to share our little family day out at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park this past Tuesday. The science center offers “Resident Free Days” to San Diego county residents, Active Duty Military & their families, and local college students with valid I.D. on the first Tuesday of every month. With JJ’s leave almost ending, we figured we might as well take advantage of that & check it out. Enjoy!

A Day at the Park

Mother and Son Mother and Son Father and Son Father and Son

Like I mentioned before, our little family loves to explore San Diego. We love to go out to eat, see the sights, and be tourists in our own (adopted) city. Unfortunately, it does get a bit expensive especially since we’re a single income family at the moment. To save some money, we always try to find fun, family friendly activities that are inexpensive. One of these activities is just spending the day at one of our local parks. Jax absolutely loves going to the park. He can walk around the playground & go on the slides all day if he could! I love it because we get to spend some family time together, we don’t have to spend a dime, and Jax gets in a pretty good nap afterwards. You can’t beat that, right?

What are a few activities that you & your family do that don’t break the bank? Please feel free to share them in the comments!

My 15 Minute Everyday Makeup Routine

15 minute makeup routine
Before I had Jax, it used to take me at least an hour to get ready every day. I’d have a full face of makeup on and my hair done. Nowadays, I don’t have enough time to do all of that on a daily basis. Jax is down to one nap during the day so I can’t plan my beauty routine around his first nap like I used to. I don’t have the same amount of time (45-1.5 hours – depending on how well he naps) like I used to either. After a little adjusting, I’ve managed to streamline my makeup routine and cut down the amount of time I take to do it. So I thought I’d share my quick 15 minute everyday makeup routine with you all. Enjoy!
