One of the things that we love to do as a family is go out and explore San Diego. We’ve been here for a little over a year but there’s still so much that we have yet to discover. We decided to spend the day out in North Park. I absolutely love this neighborhood because of all the good food spots and cute boutiques. If we ever had a chance to move to a different neighborhood, North Park is definitely on the top of my list!
We decided grab lunch at a spot that we’ve never been to before, Hundred Proof. It’s considered to be in the University Heights area but whatever, close enough. I found it on Yelp and it had some great reviews for just opening up a few weeks ago. This place did not disappoint! I would definitely recommend their fish tacos (SO GOOD!) and the HP burger. They didn’t really have a kid’s menu so we ordered a side of fries for little man. He couldn’t get enough of their fries. We’re definitely coming back to try their truffle mushroom mac n’ cheese.
Afterwards, we decided to stop by Hammond’s for some ice cream. We gave Jax a tiny taste of their banana fudge swirl and little man loved it! We also tried their Vietnamese coffee, peanut butter snickers, and Ube flavors. I absolutely love getting their ice cream flights. They’re perfect for indecisive people like me. I guess it doesn’t help when they’ve got a long list of delicious flavors to choose from.
After a little bit more walking around and exploring, we decided to call it a day. Jax was due for his nap and I’m not going to lie, both JJ and I needed one too!
